Privacy Policy

Pitwall is an independent Formula 1 companion app, operated as a personal project by Cem Girgin (Istanbul, Türkiye). We are not affiliated with Formula 1, the FIA, or any F1 team. We collect the minimum amount of data needed to run the app and never sell it to third parties.

• Account. Email, username, optional bio + avatar. Sign in with Apple and Google both return only the minimal identity scopes (email, name on first sign-in).
• Favorites. Your selected team, drivers, and race weekends — stored against your account so they sync across devices.
• Community content. Posts, replies, reactions, follows, blocks.
• Usage. Anonymised crash reports and aggregate analytics via Sentry — never tied to PII.
• Push tokens. APNs device tokens, kept on our servers so we can deliver race-day reminders and community notifications you have explicitly opted into.
• Purchase receipts. Apple subscription receipts, validated via RevenueCat, to determine your Pro tier.

Free-tier users see ads served by Google AdMob. With your explicit consent — collected via the iOS App Tracking Transparency prompt — AdMob may use the IDFA to measure ad performance. Decline the prompt and AdMob falls back to contextual targeting with no tracking identifier. Pro subscribers see no ads.

Race timing and historical results are sourced from public APIs including Jolpica F1, FastF1, and OpenF1. AI commentary is produced by OpenAI's API — only the public driver list and circuit metadata are sent, never your personal data or account contents.

Application data is hosted in the European Union on managed services (Neon Postgres, Upstash Redis, Cloudflare R2, Fly.io). Push delivery uses Apple's APNs.

You can update notification preferences in Settings, edit favourites any time, or request account deletion from Settings → Delete account. Deletion runs as a soft delete with a 30-day grace period before a worker hard-deletes the row and all associated content. You can also email us directly for a data export or immediate deletion.

As an EU/EEA or UK resident under GDPR, or a Türkiye resident under KVKK, you have the right to access, correct, port, restrict processing, or delete your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@girsoft.com.

Pitwall is not directed at children under 13. The community features are restricted by our Terms to users 13+. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it on confirmation.
